It was a sunday morning when me, my mom and my boyfriend decided to go grab a brunch at U.P. Town Center. We woke up around 10 am, and drove there by 11 am since U.P. Town is just near to my house. The mall just opened and my boyfriend immediately dragged us to Silantro, it is one of his favorite restaurants, we've ate there for more than 5 times in different branches, but because it is also one of the best restaurants in U.P. Town it's always full.
He knew right then that since the mall just opened, his favorite place isn't full YET.
While sitting inside waiting for our order, I thought of why not make a review of this restaurant since I've eaten most of their dishes already.
Silantro is a casual restaurant that serves Filipino-Mexican cuisine. Here I will list down all their dishes that I've tried and what I think of them
#1 Beef Nachos

The beef nachos is only 180php, under their appetizer section, and is already good for 3 - 4 people. The nachos are all covered with melted cheese over some huge chunks of beef, tomatoes, onions and some spices. It is best paired or dipped in Sour Cream sauce which they serve immediately with other sauces when you order.
#2 Calliente Wings

As you can see the photo is somehow different from the other pictures, it is because I took this one when I was still working for Summit Media and my boyfriend fetches me after work to eat in somewhere. That time I tried something new, which is their Calliente Wings. It's technically buffalo wings but wayyyyyyy better. I am a person who doesn't like spicy foods but trust me, this one is different! It's the first spicy food that I liked! The spiciness is not too strong but it actually adds flavor to the chicken. You won't have a feeling of "umay" after eating too much because there's lots of lettuce on top. The best thing is it tastes good when dipped in sour cream sauce, it balances the spicy flavor and the sour creamy taste.
Calliente wings is worth the try, it can feed 2 - 3 people, for only 205 php, under the appetizer section.
#3 Pancholon's Burger

My boyfriend likes ordering this all the time, so during that day I decided to order it as well to find out why he likes it so much. First of all the fries tastes so good, salty but not too salty, just the right amount. You can taste the spices on it; best dipped in Guacamole sauce or Sour Cream sauce. The burger is grilled, as you can see it's also evident on the buns. The patty is 100% quarter pound beef with diced tomatoes and onions, and on top of it is melted cheese. The patty is best paired Guacamole sauce, no need for ketchup or mayo!
Pancholon's Burger is only 160 php, under the Main Course.
#4 Skewers

Another food that we ordered is the skewers. My mom was with us during the brunch, it was really her idea to go eat at UP Town because she was unable to help me cook breakfast. Now, she ordered that Skewers and according to her half of it was Chicken meat and half was Beef, along with juicy grilled tomatoes on top, again with Guacamole dip and lemon. The nice thing is that it came along with a bowl of fried rice. She said that the chicken meat is soft and well grilled, same goes for the beef. While she was slicing it, I can even see the juices coming out of the beef!
Skewers is good for 1-2 persons, under the Main Course, for only 220 php.
#5 - Melon shake

My mom was craving for a cucumber shake but unfortunately they don't have it so instead I ordered a Melon shake for her. The glass was so tall and full to the point my mom passed it to me and my boyfriend because she can't finish it all. The shake tastes so natural (I know the difference between powdered and real), and it's not that sweet.
Melon shake is 150 php, but it's so worth it! :D
My overall experience with Silantro is amazing. They don't have a service charge so I really made sure to tip them very well because their service is amazing, even if there's a lot of customers. I would definitely go back again, with my boyfriend, mom or friends!
Bring your friends, family and loved ones here for an amazing taste bud experience! I'm sure you won't regret it :)
