This DIY tutorial can help you save money from buying your prom dress or wedding dress. I made this gown for my next cosplay and my yearbook's creative shot. I can guarantee that this tutorial won't be too hard to follow and won't be needing a lot of measurements. So just read carefully and you'll do great!
Let's start!

First you'll need:
1/2 yard of red Fur Cloth**
2 yards of yellow orange Satin Cloth**
1 yard of soft glittery orange Tulle Cloth**
1 yard of orange Organza**
Measuring Tape
Pins
Thread
Scissors
Marker
Tank Top* **The number of yard is depending on your size or preference. Listed above is calculated for my desired size. Get additional yard for each to be sure. It is better to have excess than inadequate amount. You can always reuse the excess cloth in other projects. *You won't be using the Tank Top as a part of the project, but as a basis only
First let's do the Top!
Flip the red fur cloth upside down and fold it in half. Pin on the side to hold it firmly.

Fold your Tank top and put it on top. Create an outline but make sure to leave at least 1 inch allowance and do not copy the neck part form. As you can see I made it straight without making an outline of the neckline curve. Make an outline up until the waist line (but it depends to you on how long you want the top part to be)

Cut the outline and repeat the process by making the back part. Imitate the back part but divide it into two. Make sure there is an allowance. Sew the sides under the arm whole.

This is how it should look like. As you can see there is an inch allowance in the middle.

Now that you got the other half done, outline the other half and cut it.

Sew the side under the armhole. It should look like this when upside down.

Connect the two sides together so that it will look like an inside out shirt. Fold the top part on both sides like this. Sew the lower part only so that there's a hole on both ends.

Cut the edge of the soft tulle.

Sew the edges to make it a ribbon. Do not close both ends because later we will put a chopstick inside it.

Put partial of the cloth on the chopsticks and use it to push the ribbon inside the side holes on the top.

The ribbon should connect the two sides of the blouse. The other end should be open like this because that's where you'll tie it and adjust it to your desired shape.
The end result should be like this.

Now for the bottom part!
Lay down the 2 yard yellow orange cloth first.
Loop the measuring tape around the end part of the top. Take the measurement of the end of the top, then multiply it by 2. Example, the end edge of my top is 36 x 2 = 72 so the top part of the skirt is 72 inches For the end part of the skirt, multiply the top by 4. Example mine is 36 x 4 so the bottom part is 144

Cut it and put the 1 yard soft orange tulle and 1 yard orange organza on top.

Sew it all together on top.

Sew running stitches on top then pull the string to bring all cloth together.

By pulling the string and gathering cloth together, you'll be able to make pleats. It should look like this.

Attach/Sew it on the edge of the top. The wrong side should be facing first.

After sewing it on the end part of the top, Close the end sides of the cloth.

Fold and Sew the bottom edges of the skirt to avoid running threads from the cloth.

Once done, turn it inside out. It should look like this.

And since the waist is kinda loose, you can use the excess cloth or Scrap cloth from the organza or satin as a belt. This is the final product!

Enjoy what you're doing and never stop trying even if you fail! <3
